We spent countless hours sorting through literally 1,000's of parent and non-parent Angus bulls in the Amercian Angus Database searching for a calving ease bull which ranked at the top of the breed for both $M and $C while having no weak links in his EPD profile. We found that bull selling as the Lot 2 bull in the 2025 Yon Family Farms Spring Sale.
As of March 7, 2025, he stands out with an impressive 17 traits that rank him in the top 15% or higher. He is the only bull in the entire Angus Parent and Non-Parent database with his unique combination of CED, BW, $M, $W and $C. Additionally, he scanned a 105 ribeye area and had a 125 IMF ratio.
His pedigree is equally exceptional, sired by Yon Saluda and out of a great uddered, easy-fleshing daughter of Tehama Tahoe B767. The strength of his lineage is further highlighted by his paternal grand dam, Yon Sarah D668, and maternal grand dam, Yon Sally C200, both still in production at 10 years of age and having produced a combined total of 263 genomic progeny. We couldn't be more excited about the future with him in our program.

As of March 5th 2025, 2239 is tied for the fifth place $Maternal Bull in the Angus database. Unique within the breed, he boasts an impressive combination of traits, including a 1% ranking in Heifer Pregnancy (25), 15% in Hair Shedding (.30), 1% in $Maternal (123), and 3% in $Weaning (87). Additionally, he ranks in the 20% and 15% for Claw and Angle, while scanning a 365 day ribeye area measurement of 17.81 inches at a yearling weight of 1269 lbs.
His bull calves are big footed and thick made while being moderate in frame size. His heifers are ultra feminine and deep bodied and we expect them to make excellent cows. We are very pleased with his offspring and anticipate their future contributions to our herd.
